Wellness Screening

Palm Coast Parks & Recreation, in partnership with Florida Hospital Flagler, is offering two free opportunities in October to help residents stay healthy! Registration is now open at www.parksandrec.fun/wellness.

A Wellness Screening focused on blood pressure is scheduled for 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Palm Coast Community Center, 305 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE. Florida Hospital Flagler personnel will provide the free screening. Understanding and properly managing blood pressure is key to heart health.

Then, from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, aWellness Workshop to educate residents on how to keep muscles firm and get more flexible will be offered by PT Solutions at the Community Center. Work your muscles to move better, bend more easily and reach higher. Take control, stretch to the next level and relax.

Both the Wellness Screening on Oct. 17 and the Wellness Workshop on Oct. 29 are free. But please pre-register to assist with event planning: www.parksandrec.fun/wellness.

Florida Hospital Flagler is the City’s Health and Wellness Event Partner. Together, Florida Hospital Flagler and Palm Coast Parks & Recreation offer many community activities and events designed to inspire residents to live healthier lives.

Hall of Terror

Prepare for an alien invasion at this year’s Hall of Terror – the free, annual haunted fire house offered by the Palm Coast Fire Department!

The Department invites everyone to the 17th annual Hall of Terror on the evenings of Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 30 and 31. Doors creak open at Palm Coast Fire Station 21, 9 Corporate Drive, (behind Kohl’s), from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, and 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Admission is free.

This year promises two nights of extra-terrestrial fright! The question “are we alone in the universe?” will be answered! Bring your friends and family and get ready to scream as we bring aliens from your favorite moments in pop culture to life.

This haunted house and show, with volunteer characters (many of whom are firefighters and other City employees), is recommended for ages 12 and older. No young children, please.

Hall of Terror is the longest-running Halloween attraction in the area. Enjoy theme-park quality scares that are absolutely free!

Cornhole Tournament

Do you love cornhole? Tourney set for Oct. 13 at Palm Coast Tennis Center

Palm Coast – Do you love cornhole?! Palm Coast Parks & Recreation is hosting its first-ever Cornhole Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 13, and it’s time to sign your team up.

The tournament for two-person teams will begin at 9 a.m. at Palm Coast Tennis Center, 1290 Belle Terre Pkwy. The tournament is for ages 15 and up. Bags and boards are provided, and the cost to participate is $35 per team.

The first-place team will receive a trophy and other prizes, and the second- and third-place teams will receive medals.

Cornhole is a lawn game in which players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the platform scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches (or exceeds) the score of 21. This widely popular sport has been featured on ESPN!
